Braintree, MA. January 9, 2023. Boston-based supplier HPG has acquired Evans Manufacturing (ASI 52840, PPAI 110747, S11) based in Garden Grove, CA. The acquisition sees two 2022 Top 40 suppliers coming together (HPG #8 and Evans #29) and brings new North American manufacturing capabilities into the HPG portfolio, with the addition of Evans’ facilities in Southern California and Nogales Mexico.
Evans Manufacturing was established in 1983 as an injection molding company primarily focused on retail end markets, and entered the promotional products industry in 1992. The Company specializes in plastic and fabric products for the promotional product industry in categories including Healthcare, Household, Office, Drinkware, Pet, Writing Instruments, Travel, Auto, Golf, Outdoor, Tech, Spirit, School and more.
With the majority of the line designed and manufactured in-house, Evans produces and decorates over 200 products in their US manufacturing facility and has earned a reputation for innovation and quality. In 2008, Evans expanded its operations to a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Nogales, Mexico –where today its in-house production of tote bags, and other cut-and-sew items, takes place.
Under Alan Vaught’s leadership, Evans has won numerous industry awards, with the latest being a PPAI Supplier Star award, along with the distinction of a Counselor Best Place to Work award in 2022, being the highest ranked large company (more than 100 employees) to be named to the list. As part of the transaction, Alan will continue to lead Evans as Division President and is a significant HPG shareholder.
